Stunning golden, threadlike branches are the trademark of this evergreen shrub. The cascading nature of the branches also adds an air of elegance to any mixed border. Easy to grow and adapts to most locations.
We offer the Gold Mop 18" in a 3 gallon container.
A much improved strain of gold mop cypress, it has a more compact and wider spreading growth habit than the species.
Planting: Gold Mops grow easily in fertile, well drained soils with full sun to part shade and shelter from strong winds. Click on the "About Us" tab to find planting instructions.
Watering: For the first season, water every 2-4 days after planting for the first 6 weeks and then at least once a week onward unless rain occurs. After the first season, plants should only be watered during exteded periods without rain. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring after the last frost with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer made for evergreen shrubs.
Pruning: Pruning is rarely needed. Gold Mop can be kept smaller with minimal pruning.
