Soft Touch Japanese Holly

A delicate dense, low compact, mounding shrub with a dark green foilage that is soft to the touch.  This is a great plant that could be used to replace Helleri.  It is drought tolerant, adapts to many soil conditions and is cold hardier than the Helleri.  Little or no maintenance makes it an excellent choice for foundation, borders, or where a small hedge is needed.


We offer the Soft Touch 18" to 24" in a 5 gallon container.

Crenata holly is a dense multi-branched evergreen shrub with a round or broadly rounded form, while other varieties have an upright form. All the crenata varieties have medium fine textured leaves that are oval shaped and stiff.  The leaves remain a lustrous dark green color in summer and winter. Does well in full sun or partial shade, adaptable to most soil types but prefers moist well drained soil. Because of its versatility it is widely used in foundation, hedges and mass planting. A very handsome and worthwhile landscape plant.
